This morning we went down to CostCo in Reading, to get some stuff to fill up the freezer.
You have to be careful at these places because a lot of the stuff is actually more expensive than at Sainsbury's, however, M& has been filling in prices from the Sainsbury's receipts into the shopping list program in her Palm, so we had a handy reference.
We got lots of cheese of different types, bacon, part-baked baguettes and ciabattas, some pork chops and a Prestige roasting tin which we thought was a bargain when we saw them in Swindon at £25 (but didn't get one).
Total cost £78.55
Almost all of it stuff we will use in everyday cooking - a couple of little indulgences like a kilo of goat's cheese (mmm, goat's cheese and caramelised red onion tart), but that was a mega-bargain.
Just hit the Sainsbury's web site and added up what it would have cost to buy the equivalent shop, pro-rating prices where necessary, and putting in £25 for the roasting tin.
£127.09
We covered the cost of the petrol then
