I Live to Let You Shine

Zeke took a deep breath as he waited for Travis too come out of his room. Austin looked at him. "Calm down, it's just prom."

"Look, I wasn't even planning on going before I met Travis. So, fuck you, I'm nervous." Austin chuckled and shook his head.

They both looked towards the hallway when Travis' door opened. Travis walked out to them. His face was a little red with embarrassment. His tuxedo was black and his vest was blue. He still wore his converse though.

Zeke covered his face. "You look so good."

Austin laughed softly. "You look very good, Travis."

Travis fidgeted and pulled on his suit. "You think so?" Zeke uncovered his face, then looked at him. "Zeke?"

"You're gorgeous." Travis blushed. He blushed harder when Zeke walked to him and kissed him. Austin watched them for a few seconds, then looked away with a sigh. "Are you ready?" Travis nodded. Zeke smiled at him, kissing him one more time, then taking his hand. "Later, Austin."

Austin waved as they left the house. He sighed and turned on the TV.

Zeke held Travis' hand the entire way to the school. They shared a kiss before getting out of the Jeep. They glared at a group of people that shouted, 'fags' at them.

"It's okay, Travis. Let's just go enjoy ourselves." Travis smiled at him and kissed his cheek.

"Okay."

Of course when they walked into the gym, they got some stares. Everybody wasn't a hundred percent okay with their relationship. Mostly the ones that didn't like Travis.

They both danced to slow songs, arms wrapped around each other. They'd share kisses, sweet and innocent. Not like the ones that were happening in corners or behind the bleachers.

Travis started to get uncomfortable from the last kiss they shared. It wasn't Zeke that made him uncomfortable, it was a teacher that made a gagging face to a student when he saw it.

Zeke saw the uncomfortablity on Travis' face. "Hey. Don't worry about other people, Trav. They don't matter." That opinion changed quick when a few guys dumped punch on them, then ran off. Zeke closed his eyes and took a deep breath again; not from anticipation, but to calm himself from beating the guys to a pulp. He looked down at Travis who's eyes were teary. He wiped his own face, then Travis'. "Let's go somewhere else."

Travis looked up at him. "Can we just go home?" Zeke shook his head and Travis out of the building, ignoring the teacher at the door when she said they couldn't leave without a parent coming to get them. "Zeke. Please. Let's just go home." Zeke looked at him.

"We're going to have our prom night. I promise." He helped Travis take off his jacket, then helped him into the Jeep. Zeke took his off, got into the driver's seat and drove to the park.

"Why're we here?" Zeke smiled at him and got out. "Zeke?" He came around to Travis' side and helped him out of the Jeep. Travis stopped when he heard music. "Where's that coming from?"

Zeke led him to a street performer. "This guy is always here at night. He plays the best slow songs."

The performer smiled at Travis when he saw him. Travis looked up at Zeke. "Our prom night's going to be out here?"

"Do you not want it to be?" He pushed his own hair back, it staid back because of the stickiness of the punch.

Travis smiled. "It's perfect." He took Zeke's hand when he offered it.

They danced as the man played Boats and Birds.
