Which leads us to say it's a typical day...

OH. MY. GOD.

Li'l Abner, today, was a complete disaster. Don't worry, there's a whole Lianne freaking out story about it.
So, if i haven't complained to EVERYONE about it already, I got sucked into helping out with the Heritage Middle School musical, Li'l Abner. This included, since the lighting kid decided not to show up for half the time, doing lighting for the show (which, btw, i had to learn as i went along, since i've never really done lighting before). So anyway, today was one of the days the kid wasn't there, so i was doing it by myself, and everything was going absolutely fine.

But , apparently there was a power surge or something, because i was just sitting there reading the script when all of a sudden, the lamp that we use to like, see stuff in the back, pretty much explodes. no, really. im being serious. the light bulb literally EXPLODED.

Now, i was so taken aback by this, and i was trying to figure out what happened, when i look to the moniter connected to the lighting board, and realize, it's blank. and then, caitlin goes, "lianne... um.. the stage.. its um.. the stage is black."

so i look up. and what do you know. the kids are going along with the show. IN DARKNESS. so im like, "OMGOMG OMG THE STAGE IS BLACK THE STAGE IS BLACK". so then mr russ storms in and is like "go backstage and use the emergency lights for blackouts. well try and fix it"

so i had to pretty much hope i knew when the blackouts were to turn these lights on, which btw turned all the lights on in the audience to, but you know, at least they could see.

anyway, so someone ran to radio shack during the show and bought a new fuse, b/c it turned out the fuse blew, and they fixed it. and apparently, "i stayed very calm". although, that was a complete lie. i was FREAKING OUT.

On the bright side, it was the closing performance, so the kids at the end gave out all the gifts. and i got one! little mazur announced my name and was like, "thanks to lianne kulik for doing pretty much everything backstage and helping everyone out so much... blah blah blah". it came as a complete surprise to me, and it somehow made this week from hell seem not so bad.
