half of a good weekend

Half of this weekend was spent at a conference for work. It occurs annually and lots of folks who used to work at the agency show up and it's a bunch of networking and fun -- at least if you work for the Commission, because then you are not forced to check your Crackberry Blackberry every 15 minutes and/or go running out the back to make calls to clients.

At this conference every year, I look around in wonderment -- a thousand securities lawyers all in one place. About 80% of them are tools. 90% are white males. About 7% are women and the remaining 3% are non-white males.

You'd think the chances for hooking up with one of them would be good, except:

1). They're all tools
2). They're all lawyers
3). The large majority are too full of themselves
4). They don't have a high success rate in relationships because they work too much and don't put enough priority on their partners and most of them end up getting divorced or never marrying, anyway.

My super-seekrit 4th grade crush (hereinafter "Super-Sekrit Crush") was not at the conference, but I talked to him this past week (we talked for an hour!). And he broke up with the chick he was seeing out there in California so I was of course ecstatic to hear all about that. He was saying how much he wants to find someone so he can have kids sometime soon. * Cue MB's swoon *

So I guess reason #5 for not being interested in anyone at the conference is:
5). I'm all kinds of hung up on Super-Sekrit Crush and wish I had the guts to move to California and make a move on him rather than waste time on a tool who's too full of himself.
