SELFISHNESS

Dec 25, 2010 16:57

So because I'm a selfish brat, I'm going to post what I got for Christmas on my LJ. Because I want to :P

PS Hope everyone had/has a great Christmas! Been a fun one for me!

From Josh's mom and stepdad:
A huge variety of "stocking stuff" that filled up a box and a bag, including towels
penguin salt and pepper shakers
A KINDLE 3G!!! (I love it already)
pretty much our entire front room is full of things they got for us. "stockings" are huge with them. It makes me feel really guilty.

Josh's aunt and uncle:
wall candle holders that perfectly match my set... it's like they were made to go together- they are great

Josh:
a hot pink/magenta leather case for the Kindle
NO ENGAGEMENT RING- we are getting married in August, WTF is he thinking... I told him it's hurtful and confusing to still not have been asked, and he says "it shouldn't be hurtful". Well, it is.

Mom:
A fuzzy scarf and blanket
about a million calories' worth of cream puffs and fudge and cookies
A shamrock horse ornament
towels
Wal Mart gift card

I haven't gotten this many presents since I was ten, it's insane. Josh's mom's rule is that whatever her husband spends on his kids (who are also adults, 21 and 22 I believe) they have to spend on Josh and now, by extension, me. My family normally does one present, so I'm super uncomfortable receiving presents, but I have been told multiple times to "get used to it". Hopefully when we have kids a lot of the presents will shift over to them. I'm not trying to be ungrateful, it's just not what I'm used to. At least I didn't get like, toiletries (well, not many) in my stocking this year! I told Josh that I think it's really inappropriate and uncomfortable for my mother-in-law to be getting me things like deodorant and suggested bath towels. Woot, she listened! I think the bathroom stuff is a holdover from when Josh had to be forced into hygiene as a child, lol.

Anyhow, Happy Holidays, friends!
