Titles, for the most part, will remain anonymous. Another entry may follow later. Who knows. :)

He'd sold his soul. There was no turning back the hands of time on this one. What was done had been done, despite his wishes to go back and do things all over again. Then again, there was never any turning back the hands of time. Time was fickle, after all, and he'd felt his time on this plane to be slipping away. He still had a lot left to do and people to protect. So he'd done the only thing he could imagine.

Tohma fought back a sigh and rubbed his eyes. Yes. He'd done the only thing he could think of to do, and that was to talk to Shuichi about his dilemma. The vocalist had understood his plight but had refused to immediately grant his request.

"This isn't a decision to be made lightly," Shuichi had said. "Come and talk to me in a month. If you still feel the need to do this then we'll talk. But only if you still feel the need to do this."

Tohma thought the singer was being overly cautious, something very un-Shuichi like. Then again, he wasn't the Shuichi the world thought him to be. Oh no. Tohma knew what he was. It had been accidental, his discovery, but it had been made nonetheless. Promises had been made, promises of secrecy and of self-restraint, but none of it changed the fact Tohma knew Shuichi's secret. He'd also learned Ryuichi shared the same fate as the violet-eyed man.

Perhaps that had been why he'd gone to Bad Luck's vocalist rather than his long-time friend. Ryuichi had found out, of course, and had tried to talk Tohma out of it, but the blonde would not be persuaded otherwise. He knew what he felt he had to do, and he was going to go through with it. When he'd approached Shuichi again, he'd had to make more promises to the singer, but he felt they were vows he'd be able to keep. He understood the man's desire for secrecy . . . and companionship.

His head still spun after the events that had transpired, but he was able to notice things that he hadn't been able to before. Scents, sounds, sights, each became unique to his mind's eye, and he found himself able to pay better attention to even the most miniscule of details. His newly acquired abilities gave him an edge in a cut-throat industry, and he loved the thrill that it gave him.

However, he now knew why Shuichi had been hesitant to grant his wish, why Ryuichi had tried to talk him out of his decision. Once it was done, there was no going back. He'd watch his family and friends slowly wither and die, and he'd be left alone in a world that would constantly be changing.

It was a high price to pay, one Tohma wasn't sure he wanted anymore.

Violet met gold in an interesting showdown. Those that knew the two best never truly understood why they had decided to do this, but they also never questioned the odd behaviour. They weren't called best friends for nothing, after all, and years of knowing the couple had taught them when not to inquire about . . . odd things.

Like now, when the two lovers had locked gazes over dinner. Neither Eiri nor Shuichi spoke. They simply stared but never blinked.

Hiro had always thought it to be a competition between the two men. Why else would their gazes lock so suddenly and intensely? Tohma never said what he believed the stare-downs to be. They just knew that, when Shuichi smiled, it was over and conversation would resume as if it had never ceased.

Little did they know . . .

It hurt. It hurt a lot, watching Shuichi as the younger man walked away, but Eiri didn't have a choice. Their relationship was over, had been for some time. He wanted to deny it, had always wanted to deny it, and he'd been ready to tell Shuichi he wanted the vocalist back in his life. However, he couldn't. He had to face reality. His relationship with the singer was officially dead. The fact had been driven straight to Eiri's heart tonight, as the vocalist stepped away from him and greeted his new lover with open arms.

New lover.

He'd been replaced and quickly so, it seemed. Eiri hadn't ever seen Shuichi smile the way he had when he saw his new found partner. It broke the blonde's heart in more ways than he truly cared to admit, and he wanted to call out to Shuichi, to bring the younger man back to him and take him home.

Such a thing wasn't going to happen, though. Not with Shuichi's new lover glancing over his shoulder and giving Eiri a very stern look. He knew that particular expression all too well for he'd given many people the same look when he and Shuichi had been together. It told him to not even look. That Shuichi was now forbidden to him and there wasn't anything Eiri could do about it.

Eiri's eyes stung as the two men walked away, arm in arm, and Shuichi talking as if nothing important had transpired. As if he weren't walking away with someone who was equally important to Eiri as the vocalist was, and it made the novelist sick as Tohma smiled at his former lover while wrapping his arms around that lithe body in a possessive manner.

It just wasn't right and it just wasn't fair.

"Oh, come on! You can't tell me you're not the least bit curious!"

Hiro stared in disbelief at the youth before him. Sometimes it freaked him out, the uncanny resemblance that Tatsuha shared with his older brother Eiri. If not for the difference in age, the two men could have been twins.

Perhaps that was why Tatsuha's . . . suggestion had shocked him. Because of that resemblance to his best friend's lover.

Actually, it wasn't much of a suggestion coming from the teen. It felt more like a command, and Hiro got the impression that Tatsuha was not someone used to being denied.

"Well?" Tatsuha prompted. Hiro let out a soft sigh. There was no denying the question at least.

"I am a little curious," he murmured, making sure to keep a little distance between himself and the younger man. "But that doesn't mean I actually want to act on it."

"You sure about that?" Tatsuha inquired, smirking and stepping closer. "No one will have to know, after all."

"Very sure," Hiro replied, noticing how the younger Uesugi was trying to trap him into a corner. Unfortunately it was working, too. "I don't want to know what it'd be like."

"I think you do." The smirk Tatsuha wore on his face grew wider.

"No . . ."

Hiro's back hit the wall as he ran out of space to keep dodging the teen, and Tatsuha was a mere breath away. The teen exuded an aura of confidence as he placed his hands on either side of the guitarist.

Suddenly, the room felt warm, warmer than it should have, and his heart started to beat a little faster. Why, Hiro wasn't entirely sure. Hot breath ghosted along his neck, and he shivered. Then Tatsuha pulled away, that damn smirk still in place.

"Perhaps some other time."

With a wink and a kiss blown, the teen disappeared out the door, leaving Hiro to wonder what the hell had just happened.
