Autumnwood has offered me a position on days. Twice. I've turned it down. Twice.
Yep. Something seriously wrong with me. XD It's called not wanting to be awake at four thirty in the morning! Bwahahahaha!
Anyway, to make this entry somewhat longer, I give you two ficlets for the same LJ writing community. -snickers- Here's the deal.
The community itself is called
25_foods. There are six theme tables to choose from. Each prompt table has five open slots for the writer to be really creative. As has been my wont lately, I chose Gravitation for my fandom, the threesome of Tohma/Shuichi/Ryuichi, and opted for prompt table 1 for my writing exercises. (I couldn't use all of the themes, which is probably a good thing.)
Since I had forgotten my previous idea, I wrote the beginning to a story called The Spice of Life. It's a Gentle Embrace side story. As I was writing that, I remembered what I wanted to do with the initial "threesome." So I offer to you two stories. The Spice of Life and Indigestion. :) Enjoy!
Title: The Spice of Life
Author/Artist:
liana_bluestarCharacter/Pairing: Tohma Seguchi/Ryuichi Sakuma/Shuichi Shindou
Disclaimer: I do not own Gravitation
Prompt Table: #1
Prompt: 21, writer's choice (beef stroganoff)
Rating: I'm going to say M/R for mature audiences for future reference.
Warnings: M/M situations, hints of sexual activities with a minor
Word Count: I don't know. Wordpad doesn't have word count.
Author’s Notes: Decided to go with a traditional Hungarian dish for my first theme. We had it the night before I wrote this. It was yummy.
Chapter One:
Tohma hummed softly as he carefully sliced a medium-sized beef roast into smaller chunks. On the stove sat two pots, one of a strange tomato and sour cream concotion and one of bubbling water. A bag of egg noodles waited to be dumped into the water.
Tonight, he was trying something different for his wards when it came to the evening meal. Tonight, he was fixing a traditional Hungarian dish called beef stroganoff. They had gone to a restaurant that served beef stroganoff the week before, and Eiri and Shuichi had seemed to really enjoy it. The sauce had tasted a bit heavy to Tohma's palate, but he had otherwise enjoyed the meal as well. It had taken a bit of searching, but he'd been able to find someone in his apartment complex willing to share the recipe. All he had to do now was cook the beef to combine everything.
As he tossed the beef chunks into a frying pan, the apartment door opened and closed, and two cheerful voices began to fill the place with life. Tohma smiled to himself as he listened to Eiri and Shuichi excitedly chattering away. From the sound of it, Ryuichi had lived up to his promise and had taken the two around to the various art museums rather than take the teens to the zoo.
"It smells good, Tohma. What is it?"
He glanced up at the soft tone coming from Ryuichi then offered his friend a smile.
"Beef stroganoff."
"Oh."
Tohma tilted his head at Ryuichi and raised an eyebrow at the singer. The other man had a somber, serious expression. He was not dealing with the usual Ryuichi, the one the world was coming to know as a child in a man's body. This was the serious Ryuichi, and he only came out when something was troubling him.
"What is it, Ryu-chan?"
"I know, Tohma."
The blonde paused for a moment and regarded his friend. There were many things that Ryuichi knew. Very few things ever escaped the vocalist's attention. It just seemed like he was oblivious to the world around him. Of that, Tohma was well aware. Then he turned back to the fry pan.
"I see."
"I don't want to see him get hurt . . ."
"I won't hurt him. You know that," Tohma said.
"I know you won't," Ryuichi replied quietly. "But other people might. He doesn't deserve that, Tohma. He . . ."
"Is stronger than what we give him credit for, Ryu." Tohma turned his gaze back to his friend. "He just hasn't realised it yet."
"What makes you so sure?" the vocalist inquired, stepping forward. "What is it you see that I don't?"
Tohma shrugged as he said, "It's just a feeling that I have . . . Would you like to stay for dinner, Ryuichi? You must be starving after today."
A bright smile lit the singer's face and he immediately reverted back to the childlike Ryuichi everyone knew and loved. They both knew their conversation wasn't over, but some things were best left unsaid when it was possible for the wrong ears to hear something they shouldn't.
"I'm famished, Tohma-Tohma! When do we eat?"
And now for the other idea . . .
Title:Indigestion
Author/Artist:
liana_bluestarCharacter/Pairing: Tohma Seguchi/Ryuichi Sakuma/Shuichi Shindou
Disclaimer: I do not own Gravitation
Prompt Table: #1
Prompt: #21, writer's choice (beef stroganoff, Hamburger Helper style)
Rating: PG13 for the moment
Warnings: m/m situations
Word Count: I still don't know.
Author’s Notes: The second offering for the same theme.
Chapter One:
Ryuichi frowned slightly as he read the directions on the back of the box. The food shouldn't have been too terribly hard to make. The instructions were step-by-step, very easy to follow, but the vocalist was having a hard time focusing on what he needed to be doing. Instead, his thoughts were on the young man sleeping soundly in his bedroom.
'Shuichi . . .'
He had done it for the younger man's sake. He had convinced Bad Luck's vocalist to take a vacation with him, to head for one of his many homes in the U.S. and just get away from it all. The fans, the stress, everything. His motives, to Shuichi, had been completely selfless, that of a friend, but Ryuichi . . . had lied to his friend. The real reasons for wanting to get Shuichi out of Japan were purely selfish in nature, and he had no doubts that Tohma and K would have started the hunt for the two of them.
However, Ryuichi could no longer take it. He could no longer stand back and watch as Shuichi continued on a path of self-destruction. Staying in Japan, staying near Eiri and Tohma and K would ensure.
He loved Tohma and he loved K. He truly did, but they didn't see things the way he did. Tohma now saw music as a business and a way to exploit all kinds of talent. K saw the same thing, too. They didn't see what the constant working and touring was doing to Shuichi, but Ryuichi did. And he had vowed to save the younger man from himself . . . and from his relationship with Eiri.
Ryuichi had never really liked Eiri Yuki all that much. Something about the author had rubbed him the wrong way. Granted, the tempermental blonde was good for Shuichi in most ways, but that had never stopped Ryuichi's dislike for the novelist.
'Shuichi . . .'
He set the box of Hamburger Helper down then rubbed his temples. He really needed to fix it, so they 'd have something to eat, but he found he just couldn't focus, no matter how hard he tried.
'Tomorrow night.'
In the meantime, he'd find a place to deliver some pizza or something. He needed to check on Shuichi . . . and to make sure the other singer didn't tell anyone where they had gone. It promised to be a very long and interesting trip. Ryuichi felt certain of that.
And there. Enjoy!
