Hooray!
Yeah. Two days and no writing from me. Sorry, kids. Just didn't have anything to say . . .
In a couple of weeks or so, I'll know if I'll be accepted to Michigan State University for spring classes. I have to fill out the application and mail it out tomorrow along with the money order and an essay about myself -cringes-. Yeah. Ironically on pay day. ;) Don't you just hate having to pay for a school to notice you? Hehehe. I got a lot of running to do tomorrow. Someone wish me luck!
Other things . . . well . . .
I read a crappy-written piece of fanfic last week . . . cringed the entire time because of various issues. Improper tense use (bouncing back and forth between present and past tense), ill use of point of view (some chapters were first person, some were third), bad spelling and grammar mistakes, and lack of research . . . oh, and bad use of OCs . . . no, I have not "reviewed" this story. This author is in serious need of a beta-reader and I don't want to be asked to beta. Between my own writing and work and getting stuff cleaned up around here, I don't have time to sit and beta-read someone else's work. (I've had that happen before. Left a review, pointing out the errors and the need for a beta-reader (and not knowing the author already had a beta-reader), and ended up becoming the author's editor. Strange how the world works.) I'm tempted to go back and leave a review about it . . . especially where the author's OC comments about how her Japanese mother thinks she's too young to be getting married. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong but isn't that an American mindset and not Japanese? and
I still don't want to be there. I'm making the same mistake with Autumnwood that I made with Lakeview . . . and that's working as a CNA because I need a job. :P That's why I don't intend to be at Autumnwood for very long. I hate job-switching but this does put me in a very bad situation. And before anyone says how rewarding the work is, I know. I've already worked as an aide and let me tell you . . . the ones who really do appreciate the aides the most are family members. Not all of the residents do. In fact, some cognitive residents can be quite demanding of your time and they don't care if you have other people relying on you. Imagine that kind of stress on you. ;) It's still fun, though. One of my co-workers last night put one of her residents in the wrong bed. Right room but the wrong bed. It was hilarious. We laughed about it for the rest of the night (but told no one else).
Now to finish that application and figure out what I'm going to write about myself . . . I'm a very uninteresting person. I also don't like writing about myself. I never know what to say . . .
Until the next time.
