the boy who looked at Jonny...

when i was told i could have a razorlight ticket i thought i'd take it and go along for a decent gig. in the end im really glad i did.

i got my ticket and headed off to the academy with monica. on our way to the queue we bump into her friend Jason. now monica who has millions of friends who i have different opinions of, this character is very cool guy. once inside i was told not to look foward to the first support band. seriously though, i think they played one song for their whole set. the next band the Subways, i'll be looking out for in the future, not just for their gorgeous bassist. the night was looking to be a great one bit what made it even better was a phone call from popey and pigeon who were standing literally right behind me. both basically out their faces after their carlings and cheap double vodkas, great quality as popey frequently points out. popey and pidges chants of popey being hardcore, good old two-way tommy and peter campbell were the usual classics but the faces of jason and monica were brilliant. whitey had seen it all before like me but we wer still both loving it.

the clock promised razorlight to come on in half an hour and sure enough right on the dot the lights went down and on came jonny and the boys. great gig but a massive pity that the crowd were so rowdy and wee monica got crushed. i was willing to stay with her for the duration but she was having none, thinking it would make my night rubbish. as if it would but she headed off to the laydees room so charged back foward to reunite with the lads, although pigeon was never seen untill AFTER the SHOW.

gutted that the PA never played the boy who looked at jonny, jason and i decided we'd have our own (20) rendition(s). outside as monica got her jacket we continued into more libs songs and threw in the futureheads and bloc party. the futureheads one was a classic and a random guy jumped in. popey and pigeon headed off for the AFTERSHOW!! and ran down the path (and in one case the road) to get up to no good. by this time me and jason had been chatting to a couple of nice girls who asked us if we were going to the aftershow. jason, the possibilities if we went?gave monica a lift home after a quite immense little night.

hopefully the next gig will be just as good. bloc party on the cards??
