Hi.

I got on the Dean's Merit list for my graduating year. Top 60 students in Business and Law. Across 3 campuses. And my name is on it. One of about 7 I can pronounce. I wonder how many Business and Law graduates there are this year? Cos knowing would really inflate my ego, I bet.

It was Adam's birthday on Saturday. It was nice. I spoiled him. Bek and Genee helped me sew a brocade book bag for him in a flurry of last-minuteness. We were delerious.

I read Disgrace by JM Coetzee and it is friggin good. I was thinking of letting the Booker Prize judging panel know that they made an excellent choice in 1999. You know, in case they were wondering. It is very multi-faceted, each facet revealing a different form of disgrace. And there's a whole bunch of political stuff and things, it's all very deep. But I just liked it, without thinking about the deeper meanings. He has a lovely style... sophisticated

Now I am reading Midnight's Children by Salman Rushdie. Only gotten through 60 pages but it is very, very good. But kind of difficult to get used to Rushdie's style for the first little bit. It's another stylistically, hm, maybe abstract is the word... kind of book. When I get to the end I can tell the Booker panel what I think about their 1981 (and Booker of Booker's) choice.

Bek... Kat.... book club! I'm telling my friggen LiveJournal what I think of books ffs!
