Birthday part 1

Aug 16, 2006 21:13

Ok! I'm back and bored. So I shall start my long ass posts.

I can't really remember what happened earlier in the day, but at dinner time my mom and I picked my brother and Colleen up at Colleen's mom's house, and went to this really good Thai place in Stow. I had been craving pot stickers, so I ordered some, and I also got beef teriyaki on sticks and my main course was a mild General Tso's that was excellent. After eating we rented some X-Box 360 games and went back to my mom's house where we celebrated my birthday early.

My brother and Colleen got me a pitcher and 2 margarita glasses that match from Delaware and a 1.7 Litre bottle of Bacardi Rum, plus a bottle of Pina Colada mix and a bottle of strawberry daquiri mix. My mom got me a blender, the last 4 Rurouni Kenshin books in the series, The Sims 2 Family Fun Stuff, and Brokeback Mountain on DVD. She also bought me a dryer for my apartment.

After gifts, my brother my strawberry daquiris while Colleen showed us pictures of their trip and the place that my brother proposed to her at. It was bittersweet for me, cuz I'm SO happy for them, but couldn't stop thinking that I hope that I meet a guy who'll be so nice to me one day. Then we drank and played a 360 game (Krpto or some 5 letter thing where you're a shapechanging faerie) until really late, when we played a war game that's far too realistic for my liking... but I rocked at it. My brother died so quickly and I managed to survive and kill more guys than he did. Woo for me. (Though slightly frightening.) Then he showed me his boxing game which was, again, really realistic. I started getting a headache, so I drove home carefully (i'd only had half a glass) and collapsed into bed.

Saturday I had to work, so I got up and went, then high-taled it home so I could go to my Fraternity's second summer meeting. I was about half an hour late, but I showed up with my flamigo hat on, so I successfully managed to disrupt it the moment I walked in the door. (Not my original intention, but as someone said... how could I not when wearing a flamingo on my head?) After the meeting I wanted to go out with people to eat, but it was Jeff's 21st birthday and I still needed to pack my entire apartment, so instead of torturing myself with "Ooo look what I can do in 2 days" I went and packed with my mom.

After a while and a good bit of packing, it was time to go out to eat again, this time with Colleen's family to celebrate the engagement. We went to Outback Steak House and I really really love her family. They're so nice and inclusive, allowing my mom and I to become almost as if we're cousins or something. We had a great dinner and the restaurant brought a huge piece of chocolate cake with raspberries and ice cream for the engaged, who then shared it with the rest of us because everyone was full. After dinner we drove back to the Myer's house where everyone got a glass of wine (the engaged had a special hand-painted set of glasses, blue for him and pink for her which had apparently been in the family for some time and Colleen's parents and sister had all used them at their engagements) and we toasted the couple, then Colleen's sister gave them an Irish Spoon that symbolized a bunch of things. It was beautiful. Then mom and I were getting tired so we drove back home and I collapsed again, scared of the next day.

(On a side note, I rather enjoyed the white wine that they gave me, so I might have to look into it in my future quest for new alcohol.)

Sunday I woke up and realized that I needed to move. I went online for the last time and was surprised when kidcyclone IMed me. We talked for a few minutes before my mom arrived and I unhooked my internet for the last time. Then we packed and took over boxes upon boxes. Gina came by and helped as well, and we managed to get everything moved except my futon, my desk, and a few random things by the end of the afternoon. By then my mom had worn out and Gina needed to go home, so I said goodbye, then called soulless_lover and asked if she was gonna come over, cuz she had offered the night before, when I had had a nervous breakdown about everything I needed to accomplish in the next few days. I got Logan instead of emily, and he said that he would drive on over.

So I waited and then recieved a phone call that he was lost and could I lead him to my house? I was like, buh? but tried anyway... apparently he had driven into a horrible storm and under a funnel-cloud and everything. We hung up and he ended up making it the normal way, even though it was stormy.

He helped me move my desk and the last few boxes, then I was ready to die cuz I hadn't eaten all day and it was now like 9pm and I'd been doing heavy lifting... so instead we went in search of food, and managed to find it at Chipotle. We took it back home and I hooked up my PS2 to my TV and we listened to a new mix CD that he had made while eating. After that he needed to go to Wal-Mart, so I drove us out to the 24 hour one. We bought a buncha stuff, including ice cream, cat litter, and massage oil before driving back home. He then gave me a massage which was really nice because my body had been giving me the finger the whole day.

After my legs regained enough supporting strength I collapsed into bed at about 6am.

And that's where I finish for today because I have a huge headache and fever symptoms from my life lesson I just learned about drinking Vodka after eating Pasta Alfredo. Post more tomorrow. Gnite.
