A Halloween Drabble
Because I'm still awake and Tenebris' one word prompts inspired me.
It was mocking her, she decided. It's toothy grin was out of place among the fluttering charms and wooden wishes adorning her counter. There was also something undeniably sinister about its' deep set eyes, made even more so by its' flickering luminescence.
Turning it so it faced away from her, she looked across the courtyard to where the bringer of the monstrosity chatted easily with her friends. Sensing her gaze, he looked up and gave her a bright smile and cheery wave. She levelled him an arch glare and deliberately turned back to her tasks, a tiny smile hovering on her own lips as she gave the offending pumpkin a fond swat.
