Hmmm...I think I last posted fic, um, a year ago?
I wrote this in about 20 minutes, it's unedited, un-betaed, and really is just an attempt to cheer up Sandy (
mrcrybrilliance) . Be gentle? I'm slowly trying to work my way back up to longer fic, but RL is busy and ficcing has taken a backseat. To be honest, I think this is the first thing I've written in a looooong time.
The library was silent save for the sounds of crackling paper as pages turned and the soft breathing of the woman four tables over. Sunlight filtered through the windows, setting her peach skin aglow and highlighting the almost blue undertones in her hair. Watching her surreptitiously out of the corner of his eye, Zach’s heart began to race when she leaned back in her chair, stretching her arms over her head. As her arms lowered, he started as sapphire blue eyes suddenly locked with his own green ones.
Face burning, he offered her a shy wave, hoping that she didn’t just dismiss him, or worse, run off. She stared contemplatively at him and he froze, his arm still raised. He felt as though she stared for an eternity, her gaze fathomless and strangely familiar. Finally, a small smile crept across her lips and time restarted, this time moving even faster as she gestured at the empty seat across from her.
Releasing the breath that he hadn’t even realized he’d been holding, he began gathering his supplies. This was one chance he wasn’t about to waste.
