Life update--BUSY!
I has a job.
A company was super interested in me...called me for an initial phone interview the day after i emailed them my resume. Pay isn't quite as much as I would hope, but I think I can make it work. I went up for an interview end of last week, and got called back pretty much immediately with the offer. Won't get into details here.
I has an apartment.
Father went up with me the beginning of the week to look around. Got a bunch of places off Craig's List. Frustrated the first day. Saw a WONDERFULLY remodelled small, private house, but much too small. The upstairs bedrooms didn't have full walls, so there would be NO way i was going to get my books to fit. The others I saw weren't going to work either. So yeah, day one frustrated. Second day, the first place I saw had this GORGEOUS back porch and back yard, and enough room for me to fit my books and my self. Figured I had found my place. Had 2 more to see that day, one that i figured was probably too small (it was, and had no laundry, and it REEKED of smoke) and that left the last place. THe outside was really not very impressive. But the inside...the inside just blew me away. It is HUGE. The living room was bigger square footage than pretty much any of the other apartments I looked at. It is in IMPECCABLE condition. Just got the call that my bid on it has been accepted. So I have a job, and I have an amazing place to live!
Also: I has a Defense date!
I will be defending my thesis a week from tomorrow! After that, I do some more edits/tweaks on my thesis based on my committee's comments, and then I'm done!
My job starts the beginning of next month. I move the beginning of next month. Anime Boston is the beginning of next month. And I should have my thesis done before then (I hope!) Gonna be tight, but it'll work out. I'm SUPER excited.
