Cricket anyone?

Over the weekend I followed my dad to Ipoh Padang to watch some cricket. There was the Freddy Ferguson Six-a-side on Saturday and the Bill Davidson Trophy on Sunday. Gosh it's been so long since I last watched real matches. And yea I was rooting for SMI!!! Hehe..from the time I first followed my dad till now...I'm still supporting them even if they lose..On Saturday, Anderson won the competition *tsk* *tsk* I don't like Anderson...ACS Old Boys were runners-up. SMI was so close to entering the finals but they lost the tie-breaker with ACS. You know SMI actually beat ACS in the match. I think that's quite a feat! I've watched the players from ACS play before. They used to be state players but they lost to school boys! Haha...I guess when my dad joined them for that one match, it really boosted their confidence and they gave their best. Really happy for them. Dad must be very proud of them. I certainly am.

On Sunday, Perak played against Silver State. It's an annual thing. Last time Silver State won. This time it's Perak's turn! Yay!! Hehe..But anyway, this one's a social game la. Most of the Silver State players are actually old friends, veterans who still enjoy the game. And they really do! You can hear them laugh and talk about the match so animately. After the match, dad met up with some of his ex-students. Michaelians of course! There were 3 of them, Iqbal, Sitar and Satheesh..I hope I spelt their names correctly..anyway they are all doing really well now. Iqbal and Sitar are both in their forties and Satheesh in his thirties. It's really good to see that they still remember who taught them cricket. Not only that...I'm happy they remember me. But I don't really remember them. I was very small when our paths crossed. I spoke to them..and yea they're doing really well. Sitar is looking forward to owning a Ferrari when he's 45...and he's 42 now so yea he must be doing well. A good joker he is. I also chatted with Satheesh. He's doing advertising and I asked him about it. He said you have to have an open mind on things. It's very exhilarating but tiring because you have to work long hours. And then he told me more about advertising. Talked about ads and all. Oh and Iqbal...well didn't really chat with him. He was talking with my dad most of the time. But I remember him as the guy who got my dad to buy me an encyclopedia. Yea..definitely remember him for that. Had a great weekend meeting them. Look forward to seeing them again.
