Carl, Nirvana || Open

Don't worry, Sis.

[ There's a rather ostentatious looking young boy wearing a lot of purple, with a large doll following him. Maybe you recognize them, maybe you don't. Either way, the boy and his large, self-walking and not so much talking doll seem a bit--well... lost. ]

Kagutsuchi can't be far from here...

[ He pauses, listening intently to-- ( Read more... )

Oh if it isn't that polite young boy who was so very helpful and bright and--!]

Oh--! Carl, wasn't it?

[ ALSJHDLDJSHG!! He recognizes you! It takes a moment, for his memories to come back, but he certainly knows this is Canas. ]

Oh, hello again!

[ Nirvana will just be towering over you both and giving Canas a lifeless stare. ]

[HANG ON. STARING UP AT THAT MARIONETTE.]

And this must be your sister! Fascinating! How does she function?

[ He looks curious for a moment, a little cautious, too. ]

Oh... you want to know about Ada?

[ But then he smiles. Canas is a really kind adult. He's a little suspicious, but... it's okay. He's not calling her Nirvana, right? He just wants to know. So it should be safe! ]

Well, she runs on Ars Magus! She can be broken in battle, of course, since the more she moves the more she gets worn out... she's more a functional prototype than the real thing. Some people say she's one of the powerful weapons from the Dark War. They're called Nox Nyctores.

The Ars I use to control her is something like strings on a marionette, but they're not visible to the usual human eye, and you certainly can't break them. They run on magic, after all. Of course, I'm really good with this sort of Ars. I had to learn really quickly how to operate her, because she has a hard time operating on her own.

She shares my energy too, so if I get hurt, she'll power down.

[ He frowns for a moment, acknowledging an unseen voice. ]... I know, I know. I'll be careful, ( ... )

[He listens intently, tilting his head. And then he starts to ramble.]

I see! In a manner of speaking, she is akin to your avatar on the field of battle, though you fight together, is that correct? Sharing energy as well...yes, perhaps the analogy is apt in this case.

Then theoretically were she given energy you would be capable of sharing that as well? It would appear those 'magical strings' connect you in more ways than simply movement.

[He pauses mid ramble.

...o-oh]

And you can speak with her as well!

[Now he's all starry eyed.]

Oh, yes. It's definitely like that. Sis has protected me a lot of times on her own, too... when things get serious she's taken me away from places.

[ Gush gush gush gush he loves his sister ;o; But he smiles. ]

You mean you can't hear her? I always thought it was because adults just don't listen closely enough... b-but yes, we fight together! I always have my automatons that I use in battle with the same Ars, but mainly we fight side by side.

Aha, I see! Then she is most certainly sentient?

[S-so cool. Like a morph, only so different--! But perhaps similar enough that it will bring him closer to understanding......]

I am afraid I did not hear her, if she spoke just recently to you. It is possible I was simply not listening closely enough, I suppose...?

[Derp derp.]

[ ... Nope, no matter how closely you listen, there's nothing to be heard. But Carl can obviously hear someone. ]

O-of course she is!

[ asldhlskjdhlfjhg BOTHERED BY THAT--but he recovers. ]

...

[ The doll has no moving mouth, how could it? Telepathy is the answer, but apparently only Carl can hear her. ]

I know... it's not being rude... but they don't listen...

[....e-eh?

He blinks, tilting his head, befuddled.]

I was most certainly listening that time, and I am afraid I could not hear a thing. Perhaps your connection to her is what allows you to hear her voice, but keeps it silent for someone such as me, outside of this connection?

[ ... He calms down a little, but still seems unsettled. ]

... I... I hadn't thought of that...

[ He frowns. ]

She does speak, though... she used to be able to talk just fine, anyway, before she was changed...
