Lately I am obsessed with the thought of butterflies. I keep scribbling random thoughts in my journal about them; thoughts like, "golden monarch butterflies drip like honey from eucalyptus branches." I had to look up which sort of trees monarch butterflies cling to, because I wasn't satisfied leaving it as "tree branches." Thank goodness for the Internet. But between this and reading Pilgrim at Tinker Creek (I've come to the conclusion that it's a book I'll never truly finish, because there is just so much contained within its pages), I find myself longing to go back to school, to study biology and zoology.
The first month of 2007 is almost over. It is snowing again, always again. I've not seen this much snow since I was a child in Michigan. Puerto Rico is calling me hard. I'm plotting and planning.
The new computer (yes, I finally switched to a Mac; bought myself a MacBook Pro) is lovely, though I am still feeling it out and learning things here and there. OS X doesn't allow you to control certain functions the way Windows does, which has been one of the hardest things to accept. However, keyboard functions are quickly becoming good friends of mine. Software is another issue. But really, Office is the only glaring thing missing. I'll get that soon enough.
