I found this today. I can honestly say that it's been years since I was this inspired. I don't know if I ever posted this, so I'm doing it now.
What love is this, that twix'd me so,
A child in awe of a virgin snow.
To cover the self in armor and shield
And brave the field wary and steel'd,
Slowly walk into the fray
Full of reverence, come what may.
And hold a stranger in one's hand
Soft and new, a thing unplanned.
The strange gives way to beauty beheld
Soft and gentle, with soul they meld,
A soft embrace and arms that reach
With clever guide to find a breach.
The aegis fails in its futile task
The chink is found; undo the mask.
A spark sets a raw bale aflame
Melting away what previous pain.
Then a stunning glow of warmth and care
And through it shines a love so rare
To make whole again what was before
Something less becomes much more.
To intertwine such wonder and awe,
And to bear witness, to say you saw
Or even more were party to
Such grace and bloom so firmly true
Is blessing more than faith bestow'd,
For 'tis true love, so rare and bold.
