This is perfect. I liked how the pieces slowly came together in Buffy's mind as she thought about their history - that something was always "there" between them. Your character voices are very well done - Kennedy's in particular stood out (if for no other reason than I find her incredibly difficult to write) and Buffy's resistance and Faith's vulnerability were very true to both characters. Nice work!

Thank you so much! I'm glad the voices are ok--I haven't written BtVS in forever. I always liked Kennedy, despite her self-confessed brattiness, but I haven't watched season 7 since...well, since season 7, so I had to hunt down Kennedy quotes to make sure I had her right. She was the only character who could take the role she did in this particular story.

Oh, this is good. Really good. The voices are perfect, and the way Buffy thinks, and of course everything fits in retrospect, including the fact that Buffy didn't get it then. And although I don't like Kennedy as a character, I did like the role she played in your fic and her dynamic with Buffy.

Oh, thank you! I was pretty nervous writing this--I've never written Faith/Buffy before, even though I always did think it was there. So I'm really happy to hear that it worked for you!

Kennedy is a brat (although I must confess to liking her.) But nobody else would be that blunt with Buffy.

Ah. I do like the dynamic between Buffy and Faith and this works so well developing that.
And excellent Kennedy as well.
I like the Buffy's confusion and defensiveness and determination.

Oh, brilliant. I really love how you wove in Buffy's glimpses of the past, and your versions of what she thought then and how it had changed made complete sense (though I'm not sure my sentence did). Kennedy is awesome too, with her delicate-for-Kennedy way of smacking some sense into Buffy. And Faith! So twitchy and ready to run for the hills and totally having a thing for Buffy!

Um, long story short, you have no reason to be worried about the caliber of this story. You got all the character voices perfectly and it's so cute that I may have to go rewatch Season 3 now.

Thank you so much. I'm relieved that the characterizations seem right for them and that Buffy's perceptions made sense.

I've been watching Season 3 myself lately. It was a good one...and the F/B (sub)text is very much there.
