(He has a genuine faith, a belief that God doesn't care if he's gay, a church and family that would disagree, agreement with his church's teaching about sex outside marriage (even if that's gay marriage), the public image of being very young, a maturity that means he will take care of much older friends, a preference for slightly indie music and clothes, a sweet image that means his publicist wants him to have much more conservative tastes in both (and definitely deinitely straight), a genuine tendency to see the best in everyone, having had to live through publicity about his father's sex scandal, having done a lot of growing up in Europe on tour with a punk pop band while out of the American eye, a career he really loves but where his success is vulnerable and the knowledge that it is based on very traditional values and tastes, not all of which he still shares.) Not all his issues are to do with his sexuality, but that's what his fanbase may ntot forgive. Any pairing, though David Cook would be traditional and Adam Lambert or one of the bandom boys would have interesting possibilities.
2475. RPF - American Idol, Kris Allen. Kris has always known it's ok not to be straight and thinks his friends, family and church would agree. Still he spent a lot of his teenage and college years being secretly relieved that he's bi not gay; it means he could marry Katy who he loves and can expect to have children without trouble or controvosy. It also means he can practise his faith without it being attacked, can visit pretty much any church and be made welcome, can lead worship without anyone claiming he's not fit to do so, or can't be a real Christian. And that way of living out his faith is really important to him. But he and Katy stayed virgins till their wedding night and spent a lot of time in their first year of marriage apart. Now Kris has to face the fact that the sex isn't what he thought it would be, isn't getting better and that when he thought he could be as happy with a woman as a man it was more to do with outside pressures than genuine bisexuality. He was sincere when he married, but whatever he does now is going to hurt Katy and probably him too.
