Good Dana. Nice Dana.

I ♥ my Dana.

When I'm driving back and forth between Atlanta and Raleigh, I almost always stop at Exit #78 (Chesnee) on I-85 in South Carolina. The Arby's there is one of the nicest I've found - much nicer than would be expected for a fast-food place, in terms of both facility and service - and the gas station next door tends to have prices toward the lower end of the scale.

It's right at the north end of the three-lane corridor through South Carolina, so even though it's closer to Atlanta than Raleigh, it's the better place to decompress than the actual halfway point which is the NC Welcome Center in King's Mountain.

On some impulse, I grabbed the Dana and took it in with me when I stopped there today. I didn't expect to actually turn it on but I got surprised. I'd decided on the idea for the next 100 Situations prompt for Earth 2 a couple of days ago, but I did not expect that I'd end up writing it in a fast-food place a couple hundred miles away from home.

Thanks to the Dana, I could. Which meant I was able to strike while the iron was hot. I want to do another read-through before I post it, but the first draft is always the hardest part.

For the sake of my sanity, I decided to get a hotel room. This means I have 'net access; I usually don't on these visits. My pocketbook's not happy, but I told it that it would live.
