June 6, 2009....... dum dum dummmmmm
Went for a walk at the Surrey lake before going to get groceries. Did not bring camera. BIG MISTAKE. ZOMG!
Saw 3 awesome butterflies and got close enough that I would have gotten awesome pics.. 2 were the yellow and black ones and one was black with white dots on it
Saw 2 big fatty garter snakes
Saw several bunnies
Saw bald eagle
ZOMG. SAW THE BEAVER!!!! So close!! Swimming in the lake! Right under the bridge we were standing on!! I've been watching his little beaver dam every single time we go and hope to see the beaver and finally the ONE TIME I don't have my camera with me the beaver magically appears. Awesome in a sad disappointing way.
This is big exciting news in the life of me. so. wahoo!!! totally made my day
Oh.. side note... a week or so ago we saw a Rufous or Roufus (not sure which) hummingbird.. which was really really cool.. Even if I had had my camera out and ready I wouldn't have been able to get a picture of him. he was FAST.. and he didn't stick around long.. but it was very cool
Here is a picture of one.. I think he was this because he was like super bright orange.. also the sign at the beginning of the lake trail says that they come through there in the spring and summer so I'm pretty sure he was that kind. (that makes 4 hummingbirds we've seen since spring started)
