Howdy. I know it's been a ridiculously long time since I've posted. I don't really have a good reason other than I'm lazy, and things got a little crazy, then things started piling up and the task of posting about it all just seemed so herculean. So uhh...I'm back, with a shortened version of what's been going on.
-Quit my job at Bealls Outlet in July. I'd just had it, and I was beyond frustrated and just done. So I left, which was maybe not the smartest decision ever, but oh well, it's done. Am still currently trying to find another job, and kinda freaking out now because I'm almost out of money. :(
-Had a really awesome summer. I got to spend some time with my mom (and Heather) in Orlando when they did a timeshare exchange up there. Then
fandom_traveler came to Florida to visit, and we got to do a bunch of cool things (like the Kennedy Space Center). Then Robin invited me to go on a cruise to the Bahamas, and it was at a pretty cheap price, so I decided to go for it! It was AMAZING! Definitely need to do the cruise thing again. :) And I also got to see both Kate Voegele and Rascal Flatts/Sara Evans in concert, which was wonderful!
-I'm now back in school, taking 3 classes at Polk State College. I'm in Digital Photography, Human Sexuality, and World Mythology (which is online). I've been enjoying all 3 so far, so I'm hoping it continues.
-LYA is going well, although the group has shrunk significantly since a lot of the kids have now gone off to college in other areas. So it's been quiet recently, but I actually prefer it that way. I've gotten to do a lot of cool things with them, like Gay Days at Disney, see the St. Pete Pride parade (which was my first Pride ever), and next month we'll actually be marching in the Orlando Pride parade. So I'm definitely having a great time with that group and meeting a lot of really awesome people.
-I "broke up" (if you can even call it that) with Jason, for a number of reasons. One, we tried 3 times to meet, and every time something messed it up. And also, he was a bit creepy and intense and wanted things I wasn't ready for, so I just called it quits. He's still semi-stalking me on OkCupid, but oh well, nothing I can do about that. I did, however, meet another guy on there, and we've actually started dating for real. We've gone out 3 times now. His name is Cass (or well, Kevin, but he goes by Cass), he's 21 and lives in Lake Wales. I won't get into ALL the details now (I will in another post soon, though), but let's just say that I can no longer say I've never been kissed. ;) I'm not sure where it's going, as we haven't defined anything yet, but I'm cool with just letting things play out as they will for now. So there's that.
-As of Monday, I have been living in Lakeland with Brittany for one full year. It's crazy how fast the time went, but it's been so amazing. It only sucks now because my time there is quickly coming to an end. Joel comes back in just over a month (yay!), which means probably by Christmas, I'll need to think about getting out of their hair. Also, Brittany and Joel are officially engaged (he proposed when he was home on leave in July), and they are getting married on March 11! And I get to be a bridesmaid, wheee! :D
-And today is my 25th birthday. I'm excited, actually. Bring it on, 25! And I'm currently in Washington D.C. visiting Julia (well actually, I'm *currently* at the University of Maryland hanging out in the computer lab while Julia has class, lol). But I came up here because once again, Randy Harrison (see icon) is doing a play in DC. Remember last year when I went to see him in Twelfth Night? Well, this year he's in the US premiere of an Alan Bennet play called the Habit of Art, and since the run just happened to fall at the time of my birthday, I thought what better way to celebrate than to go see him perform live again. Plus, it gives me a good excuse to see Julia, which is always awesome. :) So I got in last night and we're going to see the play tonight for my birthday. I'm super excited!!
So, I think that's all the MAJOR things. I'm hoping to keep up with things on here better than I have been, but I make no promises. I hope all of you are doing well. :)
