[The comm clicks on, with no voice for a moment, as if the person is fumbling. And then Rfena speaks.]
Jinx, how is your progress with the arm coming? I would like to see, even if you're not done.
[He might not keep working, if she can tell the technology is incompatible.]
And... Vash? I heard you had returned. [Possibly dead.] How are you doing?
.....

[He pauses to glance at the unfinished arm.]
Actually, th' last time I've seen anythin' close ta' what I could use was back in Haven.

[She's not disappointed just... curious.]
Do you think you can fashion one, or would it be hard to produce an arm of satisfactory use on the boat?
Reply
I could make ya' a temporary one from th' one I already got started, but I don't think it'll last too long from th' signals that 'll be passin' through it. I could make ya' a new one every once in a while, though.

I would like to come look at your arm at least. If you could fashion one to use in the interim for now, that would be lovely.

[She will find Jinx sitting at his desk, a screwdriver in his mouth, tinkering with a very well made arm. He's a bit upset that something so well made isn't going to work out. The arm looks a bit like This ]

[And a few minutes later there she is. She knocks once before entering, approaching Jinx.
She takes a moment to take stock of the arm.]
That is quite well made. [Maybe not as good as her technology, but if not for the fact it won't hold up long, she'd stick with it rather than the crew-arm.]

Thanks. I just hoe it'll hold up long enough fer ya'. I think that I should install this baby. Th' open wires are a bit sensitive ta' abrasion an' I don't want all this hard work ta' go ta' waste.

She moves to sit near him, already working on pulling out the wires she'd tucked into the cavity.]
I can assist in connecting each pertinent wire. And I will endeavor to protect it while I am using it.
And I will contact the crew as soon as I can.

[He positions the arm next to Rfena then pulls out his lighter.
He glances up to his patient.]
Hey, it's th' closest thing I can get ta' a solder 'round here.

I thought this might come in handy. It's a gift from a friend who isn't here anymore, but you'll probably find use in it.

[He replaces the lighter and grabs the solder. It actually looks pretty damn well made for being homemade.]
Do ya' feel pain, Kid?
[He touches the first set of wires together and expects Rfena to mimic him.]
Reply
[She puts the other wire to the end, waiting for him to start.]
I do not feel pain in the classic sense. It registers on my senses as damage, but it does not 'hurt' and will not stop me from moving. I can, however, mimic a pain reaction.

So ya' found someone that can make suitable arms fer ya'?
[He starts on the next one, whether she is ready or not.]
Reply
Not yet. But the crew has repaired organic arms, and damage to cyborgs, so... It stands to reason that asking them will at least be a good choice.

Ya' sure ya' don't mind if I bolt this inta ya'?
[There's really no turning back now. He already has his drill out.]
Reply
Bolting should be fine. There are no vital systems located at the junction.
