[The comm comes on, but there's no immediate voice. If you listen closely, you'll hear the sound of the Deck 11 fire nearby. After a moment of this, Rfena speaks.]
When you know what you're seeing isn't what's really there, does it really matter what you do? Or does anything you do even have a point?
Shockwave, Mikaela... Kevas, Shilo, Ironhide. I

She looks up when she hears him coming, and attempts a smile. It fails epically.]
Hey.

Rfena. Whatever you heard has... upset you. What did they tell you?

I asked... what they see when they look at the ship. She couldn't tell me directly, but they don't see what we see. She implied that the captain is using some kind of illusion on us.
So how can we be sure anything we do here is going to get us anywhere, Shockwave?

[She doesn't like being lied to and deceived, and doesn't like not being able to trust her eyes.]

[He shifts, settling his aft against his heel spurs as he thinks, antennae rotated forward. He's just as bothered by that; he lives on truth, on people's secrets. He doesn't like the idea that he can't trust what he sees with his own optic.]
We cannot be certain of that. And we cannot be certain that what we see is the truth. However, I believe... if we can see it, if we can touch it and interact with it here, then it is the closest to the truth that we can come to now.

Rfena still doesn't like not being able to trust her eyes though.]
...It might be a matter of perception. She never said that what we touch was a lie, just what we see it as.
Even if that's true though, why hide it from us? [She still looks miserable.]

To keep it from melting our processors, perhaps. Twice before you arrived, I have seen... creatures on this ship. Things that by rights ought not exist, that disturbed all those present.
Those creatures might be a mild portion of what the Captain has hidden from us.

Or what if the creatures were the illusion, hiding something else? [She sighs again.] I know, I should work with the input I have, but I don't like it. It makes me second- and third-guess everything.
Hiding it for our own good, maybe. Or for some other reason.
What were the ...creatures like? If you don't mind me asking.

The second may have been a hallucination, a side-effect of... whatever the cook had put into the food that forced me into Ironhide's body. But the first creatures I remember clearly. They showed up not long after Shayn made her presence known. The things were... equine, and yet not. Human hands in place of their forehooves and their heads... their heads were simply wrong. None of them spoke, they simply wandered the decks.

[She shakes her head slightly, looking at Shockwave.] That sounds... strange. Where did they come from? Were they simply transported here like everyone else?

Kevas? I have to let him know what I found out, too. I can him ask when I do that, maybe.
They probably weren't new passengers, at least.

I am certain they were not. They seemed to know their way around. [As they walked through the walls, but that's a bit 'wtf?!' even for him.]
