Here it is, 2am on Christmas morning :-) -- my mother used to be up at this hour on this day finishing the Wrapping of the Presents. I have been packing and wrapping and talking story and other fun things.
The Tally So Far:
9 batches of Eggnog
7 batches of cranberry sauce (only three actual iterations of cooking, though.)
Prezzies for people at work
Prezzies for people at Hobbit
Prezzies for family in Tucson
Prezzies for chosen-family here
Lord of the Rings, one viewing so far :-) More are most definitely planned. A second copy of the books now live at my house and are all coming with me on the airplane.
My work-stuff is all packed and half of it is standing about in my apartment, awaiting the new office space. The ficus (large, accustomed to light) is perched in my kitchen, the lightest room in the entire house. I hope it doesn't mind being left alone for a week!)
My suitcase is packed, the laundry is done and I hope I haven't forgotten anything *important*.
I am off to visit the Parental Units in sunny Tucson, flying on Christmas day itself (which I most sincerely hope will translate into Shorter, Faster Lines at the airport) and returning on New Year's Eve. I will be away from my computer (oooooh noooooooo) but not from my notebooks!.
Blessings of the season to all, and may the returning light bring life, happiness, health and prosperity. Travel safe, as I hope to, and I'll miss you!
