Happy (belated) cake day to
lwood! Party on Saturday!
By the way, no-one who has previously seen my house will recognize it as mine when next they see it. Domestic maintenance is not the word. Many thanks to
lori for aiding, abetting and encouraging, not to mention sheer hard work. I shall have to take pictures and post details when the swirling is done.
I am looking at having to retire the tangelo-colored volvo :-/. She has had a good life - built in 75 - and I have had her since August 92, driven her over 100,000 miles. But, the steering rack is beginning to go (eating & burning fluid), the engine likewise, and my mechanic, who I like a lot says I'm looking at several thousand dollars (and a new engine) to keep her going. And for about the same amount of money I can get a 90 volvo wagon that an acquaintance at work is selling. Amusingly enough, that car has been maintained by the same mechanic. Seems kind of meant, doesn't it? I'm going to go see the possible purchase on Sunday.
My brother William is getting married in three weeks.
Life is feeling kind of fragmented just now. Like this post.
Symphony tonight, though: Michael Tilson Thomas conducting a piece he wrote for the extremely good contra-bassoon player in the San Francisco Symphony. I fully expect it to be fabulous
