Sunday around the house

I got a surprising amount done today, though very little of it writing. I got some boxes moved, a couple sorted, and even managed to reduce the container-population by a few. In the process I made a space for the treadmill, which arrived & in now ensconced in a spot that I think will work well. I even got an hour's walking in, though not fast. I determined that the netbook will fit & balance in on the panel where there is a little bar that works to hold a book open, and conveniently the touchpad and mouse-bar are easily accessed. I think I will eventually get to a point where I can type & walk at the same time. I am very happy with it.

I sorted several of the bins of costumes & garb-bits, and found the Houpellande I want to wear for Investiture, very happily discovering that the brocade sleeves are still tied into it, just as I had hoped they might be. Now I just need to figure out what I want to make the cote out of -- I'm thinking maybe gold, with boars (I might be able to come up with the boars-and-thorns idea that properly belongs to Three Mountains, but could be fun...) to be nicely Tir Ysgithr-y, especially as the houp is black and blue. Or I can go grey & blue & make it my heraldry. The cote will almost certainly be linen, so I can wear it on its own in other weather.

Here is the little praise-poem I wrote today for Granite Mountain:

The seventh wonder of Atenveldt,
Arises in the North
What was a Shire, now a Barony
All shining in its worth

Honor to Brion, Baron now made,
Right generous in mirth;
And to Natal’ia, Baroness hight.
Pour grace and blessing forth
Witness Granite Mountain, Barony
Oh praise give for this birth

Oh let every heart that dwells herein
Of joy now have no dearth:
The seventh wonder of Atenveldt
Arises in the north
