Nano November day 27
Technically it is the 28th now, but there has been neither sleep nor sunrise yet, so it is still day 27 :-)
\o/ I have achieved 52,545 words! I have uploaded a text file and my progress bar is a winning purple! \o/
On the other hand, what the various daily files contain are bits and pieces of Several Different Stories. But now I can separate them out and assemble them into files of more coherence.
Of the story that is (hopefully) going to get itself finished and be my HLH shortcuts story, I had a lovely long chat with a friend, and was able to actually lay it all out and finally get a general sense of the Whole Thing. It helped a whole lot that on my walk today I got thwapped over the head with Who the Villain Is, which ties main and sub stories together in a very satisfying way, requiring only one bit that is making me go 0_o. I was able to help her figure some stuff out about what she is working on too.
Other things: I was sorting and tidying a desk that has long been in need of some attention, and found a notebook with a bit of story folded in the back that I had thought lost and gone forever - now I can type it in and maybe even finish the piece. Not until after Yuletide though.
lwood recommended this very fun story: Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality where instead of growing up with Vernon Dursley as his Uncle, Petunia marries an Oxford Biochemistry professor. Very well written, and all the science is real.
What is the internet for, if not pictures of one's cats? Here are Sam and Zeriel both asleep on the couch at the same time, a first, I believe. Perhaps they will eventually settle down to at least a truce.
