elke_tanzer is going to Burning Man (in a month, having decided to go this last week, wheeee! Go her!) and discovering all kinds of neat things like
Hexayurts (through which link I discovered
Playatech, aka interesting slotted plywood furniture.
And today she posted a link to
Make. (Ooooooh Shiny! How had I not encountered this before?)
I idly clicked on 'crafts' and then on this project for
making embroidered patches from digital artwork.
Trace the design from off the computer screen. Of course. One of those ohmygodofcourse things that had never occurred to me, and solves a problem I was encountering in one of my projects just today.
--I am making a 'Glam Nation' beach towel/blanket for the Las Vegas concert, which is being held at the
Mandalay Bay Beach (Yes, an artificial beach with a stage in the middle of the water -- got to be one of the more interesting venues on the tour!), and I want to put the 'A' that embellishes Adam's tophat, and the back of his vest, etc. on the thing. I've found some good pictures of it, and spent several hours last night with photoshop, but tracing it off the screen and then using the pantograph I got from
jgtanthony is going to be far quicker than printing it and tracing it will be.
