Miscellaneous thoughts

I saw GI-Joe with raventhourne, posadnik_ivan and scribe_ari last night. Very shiny, loud and fast, with some amusing lines and lots & lots of fabulous effects. The most amusing (in a kind of face-palm/omg way) moment was actually at the very end as the credits began to roll and I recognized the sone: Fergie & the Black-Eyed Peas on Boom-Boom-Pow. Talk about an unexpected collision of fandoms -- I only know that song because of American Idol S8: it was sung live at the finale. The costumes & choreography of the live version make So Much More Sense now.
I immediately got a pretty cracked out idea to incorporate into my big-bang story....
Speaking of which, apparently idol_bigbang was in the works at the same time as americanbang, and they are combining. Unfortunately, all the things that I found attractive -- compelling even -- about the challenge are not being carried over. They don't sound at all interested in crossover/AU/glam-glittery-alien type ideas, and that's the entirety of my story, so I won't be transfering, but I really want to write the story. I'm hoping some of the other people will be willing to perhaps join together with me & make the stories we were wanting to do happen anyway.
But the Bowie-fest AI8 challenge seems to be going along swimmingly, for which I am grateful.
Need to write my Genfic-fest piece this weekend. Oops. Forgot about that. And I still have the ficlets I owe from Sweet Charity. *Hides face* Not to mention the two LLNM pieces that aren't done yet.
In completely other news, I am baking a beer-cake & it smells wonderful. MMMMMMMmmmmmmm!
