I have seen the film.
Parts of it made me cry. Parts of it made me boggle. Much of it is made of glee, and there is much that I am really going to have to think about.
I will definitely need to see it again.
I had not properly realized that Eric Bana was even in the film, and I kept looking at Nero going "... I should know who that is. He's really good ..." so that when the credits rolled I totally went "D'oh!" A credit to Mr Bana's acting, methinks.
Ben Cross is not Mark Lenard, but then, no one really could be, and he does bring a gravitas and a grace to the part of Sarek that I can come to appreciate. I Very Much want to see what might develop between this Sarek and Spock Prime. (
laurajv has already written a splendid little piece exploring that:
The Unveiled Secret which my brain has decided is canon.
It occurs to me, that in this reality, the First Romulan Commander is likely to still be around. I may have to explore that possibility. This is after all a different reality. (And I *really am* going to have to dig out the very first piece of fic I ever finished & transcribe it in. Eeeeeeep.)
