I'm thinking that mazes and labyrinths are a significant part of the spiritual & ritual life of people in Three Mountains. Coming of Age and taking one's adult name certainly will. (Many people keep the name their parents gave them when they were born, and there is a ceremony about that too -- something like at that first full moon after the baby is born) but not all of them. Thorn's milk-name was something ordinary, but he usually got called Ghost, at least until he got big enough to fight back.
