Another incidence of competence: Quick action by bar pilot kept tanker off rocks. Not quite as spectacular as landing a plane in the Hudson, but quite an accomplishment all the same.

I have a little more of the sequel to Tantalus forming in my brain, sparked by an interesting post on how trauma like PTSD is often written about as being Interesting, but the real-life experience is actually pretty boring. Methos, for whom recovery is not a new experience, certainly finds it so. (That there is trauma that needs recovery from is not a happy thing, but that Story can come out of the experience is Good, and that Methos is talking to me about it is a happy thing :-))
I have a commission to make a cloak, paid in advance!
And I am still very, very happy about the fact that Melissa Scott is blueterraplane and she posted a very interesting post about timelines and process today.
