Happy birthday
falzalot and
tarzxf -- I hope your days are yummy and fun and the coming year splendid.
The slash-fen are coming to visit today! --
mrshamill,
the_shoshanna,
ickaimp and various and sundry others. I am soooo jazzed. Quantities of order have been wreaked on the house, shopping is achieved, and a loaf of eggbread is in the breadmaker. I realized while at the grocery store that it is actually not easy to find leaf-tea rather than teabags.
I had a moment of panic when I first logged in to work -- the reviewer for the docs that have to be finished today in order to go out tomorrow thought we might have gotten something badly wrong, that would require a massive re-write if so, but it turned out that she was conflating two different processes, and the doc is Just Fine. *Whew* And the big book that wouldn't run properly yesterday is (so far - keeps fingers crossed) running nicely and it found the things it couldn't find before, thanks to the quick turnaround on getting me the right permissions to access the files.
Package-y goodness - I have gotten spiffy earrings from
unovis_lj, Ultraviolet disks from
mogwai_do and several yummy books in the mail.
ithiliana's package will go into the mail in just a little bit.
Fannish content - I have been watching 'Strange World' (sort of x-files-ish) because it has Peter Wingfield in it as an interestingly ambiguous character, which he plays with his usual excellence, and one of the things that happens in it has given me a really fun idea for a Highlander fic. Not so much a 'Terrence Shepperd as Methos' thing -- though that has potential too -- but exploring the situation as he initially explains it.
I've also been watching Stargate SG1 & some SGA, mostly as a result of reading
synecdochic's
Broken Wings stories. There is much to love there, but so far it hasn't turned into a massive and brain-sucking obsession. Methos still owns me :-).
66 down, 42 to go on the badge holders, plus one more of the guest ones. And i've bought a book on how to knit socks.... I want to learn naalbinding & make socks but I think that figuring out the shape first is a good idea. Anyway, socks!
