Still hot, still busy
It's 10am and 100 degrees, with a high in the 110 range. This is expected to continue for thr rest of the week.
In much happier news, I put a deposit down on a New Car. A 2008 Honda Fit, the base model with manual transmission, in Tidewater Blue (pale-pale silvery-blue). According to the manifest, she is being made today, and should arrive from Japan & be ready to drive home mid-July. She already has a name: Gwyn Tiffit :-). That may change when I get her, but will do for the mean time.
It means I have a month to arrange how to pay for her. Dad was very helpful with ideas and it willing to go to the bank with me to provide advice & ask the right questions.
I saw Iron Man last night -- and now I completely understand all the squee. They did right by the character. Very, very happy with the casting, the script, the acting, the effects and the music. But happiest of all at the Story -- they managed to capture the/a core reading on Iron Man's origin that *works* on film. Admittedly, the bit at the end right before the credits is rather different from comic-canon, but given the Tony established in the film it is utterly in character.
And I really like the creepy-scary government agency. I didn't hear all the words fast enough the first time, but I was pretty sure the second time around. Plus, the *tag* after the credits!!!!
