I always knew that Immortals would be very leery of the medical establishment, and have read more than a few stories where that fear was more than justified (Becca Abbott's "Winterbourne" series is a particularly good example), but I hadn't realized that there was an actual episode

The first half of season one is quite a different beast from the second half -- the move to Paris is when David Abramowitz first turns up, bringing Darius with him, and the balance starts shifting. Things like the zippy little lightning-bursts (there's one in a different context in "Innocent Man") seem to be associated with the pre-Abramowitz showrunners. And that first Vancouver half is packed with "recurring" characters who appear about twice each, and then are never seen again -- Randi is the most conspicuous (making about half a dozen appearances), but there's Sgt. Powell and Commissioner Whatsisname of the police, I think Sam appears twice, then there's Richie's ex-girlfriend Angie (who they tried to get back for "Line of Fire" but couldn't), Tim Reid turns up as another police officer, etc etc...
