First off, happy birthday to
auberus,
ermine_rat and
maliwane.
Extra special happies to
lwood in a couple of days :-)
I've been dumping down to disk several of the Peter Wingfield things I have on the dvr -- currently doing the "Doe or Die" episode of "John Doe" he did. Rothman could easily be Horseman!Methos from To Be/Not To Be, but not otherwise, methinks. He's in lovely shape, however, and there is a fun moment at the beginning where he has gotten into the precinct building by being declared dead and brought to the morgue, where upon he vanishes from the autopsy table :-). His American accent is ok, but kind of distracting, since it isn't what I expect.
The other thing I watched this evening is a film called "Edge of Madness", where PW plays a Reverend McBain in Manitoba (or someplace similar in Canada) in the 1860s(ish). The film is an interesting exercise in perception and truth, with some really beautiful cinematography. PWs part is small, but there are some good scenes, and one can imagine Methos as McBain, especially if one takes Sim Gillivary from The Last Sin Eater as a Methos avatar.
The costumes in this film are very well done, and they got the hair right -- which results in the oddity of PW in mutton-chop sideburns. I need to figure out how to do screen-caps, if only to Share :-).
Next up, the episode "Heartless" from "Kingdom Hospital". I've seen that ep, and don't plan to really watch it again -- King regularly creeps me out. But PW is very, very, very pretty in it, not to mention scantily clothed. And his character ends up in a morgue....
