Fic 05: Link part 1

They were packing up, getting ready to move onto the next town over to find supplies. Usually they spend a long time in the field, months at a time. It that just meant they were really good at what they did. It meant that they won't die in places where others will and have died.

Now, they were very valuable in terms of being soldiers and survivors. Not many people could continually go out into the infected zones and come out of it, alive. With all their limbs still attached as well.

But it wasn't fool proof. People tend to vanish in these zones and then pop up alive a few months later, having tricked other survivors and pretending to be kings. These zones were full of feral humans, and feudal kingdoms ruled by others with an iron fist. It is difficult to restore other when others take this chance to sow chaos.

And then there was the Noah, who actively disrupt Black Order activity and work actively against the unification under the Church. In this new age, old laws were restored, things such as inquisitions and secret police. They had to, they had no choice. The human race had to survive. Even if a few heretics had to die.

So when this guy showed up, all stiff and narrow, Kanda was the one to have an equally stiff upper lip. This guy was there to watch them, ie watch Allen. Apparently the church didn't like it when one of it's star workers had a bit of a mental problem and was being seeked out by the enemy. It wasn't Allen's fault, but he was still being punished.

Link was rather tall, his hair tied back. He looked rather inconspicuous-if he were at a business meeting. In comparison, his clean cut clothes just made him stand out. He looked too fresh to even survive here. It brought doubt to Allen's mind if they could support this guy. Even if he did have such delicious cake slices in his pack. It also further cemented the doubt and the desire to protect him.

Kanda was all too pleased to knock Link out and to stuff him in a closet to keep him safe while they go out to clear waves. Guy has a sadistic streak, if anyone had noticed.

Of course, when Link sniped the charger in a clean hit saving Allen's life, a new light was shed. A very flattering one, but also one with a touch of wariness. Now, what were they going to do with Link?
