i worked for two consecutive days given that it's a holiday weekend.. yes, i missed staying at home being comfy while there was a heavy rain yesterday. i missed the days i'm suppose to do my paper and study for the upcoming exam and i missed today's "black friday" or in short christmas-shopping-day. my back ached, my legs hurt and i feel listless after a day's work. i had to take care of 13 patients on the low side of the floor.. 13 baby.. not 1, or 2 or 3.. and yes, most of them were complete care so imagine my muscles are getting huge now from bending, pulling, and being on the place all over. but even though a lot of things are going on.. i believe nursing (despite it's intricacy) is a very rewarding profession. ok, you get pretty good pay rate but that's the tangible part of it.. the thing really that makes it even more rewarding is that when you see your patients look and feel better. simple words like "thank you," or "you're so kind," or "i appreciate it" from the patient himself or any family member make me more driven. actually, it gives me a sense of purpose. even though i admit i complain a lot of times but when you're there practicing or working you just realize how lucky you are for the things that you have being that you're healthy or that your family's healthy.
i just thank the Lord coz He never fails to give reality checks on me.
hope everyone had a wonderful gobble, gobble day! :)
