UCSC is very different than what I'm used to. It's beautiful. Lots and lots of trees. Forest everywhere. The campus is just little clusters of buildings inside vast amounts of trees with deer wandering around. I'm in Porter college. I think there might be more pot smoking going on here than I saw at Burning Man. Kind of missing the urban sensibilities of SFSU. And the diversity. Most of the people I've seen are white and in the 18-23 age range. But all very friendly.  I keep getting lost. Forest is a generic term for me. All the trees look the same. My apartment is surprisingly nice. The campus is its own little world, working on completely different rules than reality.

I really want to re-read The Myth of Sisyphus by Camus.
