[Action] (Backdated to Christmas)

Dec 28, 2009 01:41

[Regal has really decided to go all-out for Christmas-- since it doesn't exist in his world, why not celebrate it while he's here? That's his logic, at least. He's forgone the tree in favor of garlands and wreaths around the house and a single sprig of mistletoe in the doorway. The fire is burning, he's got a nice breakfast ready... now he's ( Read more... )

[For Gelda, the morning isn't too special. She made the agreement with Regal to celebrate Christmas a while ago, but she hadn't expected the celebrations to start so early. When she awakens to the smell of that nice breakfast, she doesn't suspect too much yet. After all, nice breakfast is a daily occurance when you live with Regal Bryant. One shower later, she heads downstairs, fully dressed and hair still mildly damp.]

[Let's just say that Regal welcomes any excuse to keep himself busy, and besides, the more he read up about the holiday, the more he liked the sound of it. What's the harm in enjoying yourself every now and then, especially in a place like Luceti? Can't let the Malnosso win and suck all the fun out of everything.

Today's breakfast is even nicer than usual, and Regal himself is standing in front of the stove finishing up cooking an omelette.]

[Oh, omelettes! Those are a perfect way to start the day. Gelda takes a content breath through her nose, before glancing around the kitchen. Is that a wreath? As a matter of fact, the entire house seems to have gained a few extra decorations overnight.]

Good morning, Regal.

[Why yes, that is a wreath adorning the door. He'll turn to her and smile before turning his attention back to the omelette and finishing it before removing it from the heat.]

Good morning, and Merry Christmas, I believe is the traditional greeting. I apologize for not having the time to set up a Christmas tree as well, but I was lacking the proper tools to cut one down.

[And he might be bringing you over a cup of tea now, just the way you like it.]

[Careful Regal, don't spoil her too much. Before you know it, you'll be bringing her breakfast in bed and her slippers every morning.]

Ah yes, Merry Christmas. I must admit, I'm still not quite used to this holiday. Let's just take things one step at a time and go without a tree this year.

[She takes the tea, holding the cup carefully with both hands so she doesn't spill anything. Still, she'll try to stand on tiptoe to give Regal a grateful kiss on his cheek. Just a quick one, really.]

[What, you mean you don't want him to? You know he'd do it if you asked.]

I've never celebrated it myself, though I did read several books about it in the library. Hopefully that will be enough to keep me from making any grievous errors in my preparations.

[And when she stands up to kiss him, he'll turn his head just enough to meet her lips with his own in a deeper kiss than she undoubtedly had in mind. He knows she won't complain about that, though.]

[That was definitely a surprising move on Regal's part. It's not often he's the one to iniate more contact, let alone start off with it. But no, she won't be raising any objections. Instead, she makes a pleased sound from the back of her throat before breaking away.]

The day's starting off very well so far.

Then let us hope it only gets better from here.

[Just wait till you see your presents, Gelda. Regal likes to spoil you, even if he isn't El Presidente here in Luceti.

But presents later. Right now, he's just going to raise a hand to run it through her hair as he smiles at her. ... oh hell, one more quick kiss won't hurt anyone either.]

[Feisty, Regal. Very feisty. Gelda wraps her arms around his waist in return, pulling him a bit closer. Those presents can wait a bit longer, indeed. Weren't they going to have breakfast, though? It's a good thing he took that omelette off the furnace, because they might end up forgetting all about it if this keeps up.]

[Regal just might be slowly backing Gelda over to the living room door where the single sprig of mistletoe is hanging. Not that he needs an excuse to kiss her, of course; that just adds a little bit of Christmas tradition to things. And he DID tell her that he was going to hang some...]

[Seems like Regal is showing more and more initiative by the second. It's quite the change from his usual, courteous self. Not a bad one, of course. Gelda hasn't noticed the mistletoe, leaving her to wonder why she's being led away from the kitchen. Might there be a surprise waiting for her there?]

[Indeed there is! Once he gets her over to the doorway (and drops a quick kiss on her forehead), he'll motion upwards with a smile.]

Since we were discussing this before, I thought it only fitting to actually go through with it.

[It's a bit difficult to see with Regal towering over her, but with a bit of quinting she manages to peer through the mane of blue hair and spot the mistletoe. My, how charming. The mistletoe wasn't needed, but it certainly adds a nice touch.]

And I'm glad you did. We shouldn't let the effort go to waste.

[Here, have another kiss.]

[When they finally separate from the kiss, he pulls her close, resting his chin on her head.]

Then I take it you approve of this Christmas holiday?

[She'll just stick close to him as long as possible, leaning her head against his chest. Mm, this is nice.]

I've certainly grown somewhat fond of it, I must admit.

Colette suggested establishing a similar holiday back in our own world as a way to bring the Sylvaranti and the Tethe'allans together. When we return home, I would like you to help me create this new holiday.

[In his mind, there is no doubt that she will be able to go to Aselia with him.]
