Stupid people and how they effect me.

Today I got the distinct pleasure of knowing what it's like to be in an automobile accident. I was headed home from a stop at work for a meeting and had just popped open my wonderful generic brand Sprite-like soda when someone thought they could shoot across in front of us. Clearly, they weren't correct as some squealing brakes and cuss words later, we slammed right into the woman in question. We were incredibly lucky that there was no one close behind us or I probably wouldn't be typing this right now. The fact that I can should tell you that the injuries were mostly minor. My mother, who was driving, ended up with bruised wrists from the airbag popping up and ripping her hands off the wheel. I ended up with a bashed up lip which is currently swollen to twice it's current size. It's making eating and talking a bit difficult. The car ended up worse then we did, with the windshield cracking beyond use but fortunally not shattering all over us, the hood folding in on itself, and the front bumper rendered so much twisted metal. The estimate we were given said it was 8000 dollars of damage. Still, better the car then us. Cars are easier to replace, after all. I already let work know I was going to skip at least one day to let the swelling in my lip go down some. However to those who may care, I and my mother are both okay. However my day off was rather crappy. On the bright side, behold my icon. She's a space gypsy!
