This week is a good week.
I got my laptop from work and it's pretty awesome because gaming laptops are something I'd never spend money on myself, but I definitely enjoy using. It does mean that I end up working from home a bit though, rather than waiting to get into the office to make notes on something, I just do it straight away.
It will make my job in general way way easier, though, not being tethered to one PC on one floor of our office. I will need to sort through the 100 gbs or so of crap that I've built up over the past year and trim it down to something more manageable and relevant.
I hit one year at my job at the beginning of this month. It sort of slipped by because my boss was away on holiday and I ended up stepping in and acting as "de facto" boss. Which is why I got to work 22 hours, come home and sleep for 3 and then go right back into the office the next day. Being de facto boss is less fun than being assistant boss.
And the best news of all: because I worked so much during the past month, I'm owed some time. Therefore, I get Tues through Thurs off next week. Which is made even more awesome by the fact that Monday is a bank holiday. I'm nervous about wrapping up all my projects at work enough so that someone can maintain while I'm away, but it should be fine.
I have no idea what we're going to do yet. We decided to stay in Dublin -- mostly because travelling is tiring and I really just need a good long while to chill -- but we may end up doing something special-ish. We'll see.
Dave started school again. He's taking a course in internet marketing during the evenings. I'm kind of jealous, if only I had enough money to be an infinite student.
Dennis also started a new job which is awesome and great and makes me really happy as well. All in all a happy week.
My cat though, will be unhappy tomorrow. He got neutered today... hopefully he will be slightly less of a holy terror.
There's drama and stuff that I could share, but this week's too sunny and cheery, so I won't. Maybe later when I'm all grumpy and bitchy.
