Still snowy. I'm going to try my hardest to get into work tomorrow, but I have a bit of a dilemma. I'm about 85% sure I'm coming down with Strep Throat. I have redness at the back of my throat and a what looks like a white spot developing. My gland on the right side of my neck is tender and it's very hard to swallow. I haven't gotten a fever yet, which is sort of the final symptom I'm waiting for before going to to the doctor.

My dilemma is this: I've just come back from what equates to a 2 week holiday (this year, there was only three and a half working days between Christmas and New Years.) I went into the office for three days, and then spent the last two days working from home because it wasn't possible for me to get safely into work. If I do come all the way down with Strep Throat, the doctor will tell me to stay home for at least a week, but I'm worried about taking that much time off immediately after the snow days and the Christmas vacation. I mean, I'm past my probation, so as long as I have a doctor's note for the time, they can't fire me for it and I'll be paid, however I'm worried about how it will look come next fall when my performance is reviewed. Immediately after getting my "congratulations, you're not fired!" letter I conveniently come down with an illness that keeps me home for an extra week. I don't know, I'm worried it'll be suspicious and memorable.

On the other side of that Strep Throat is highly contagious, and right now we work in this old, restored building downtown, with no windows and a closed air system, I could potentially make everyone sick, which might be worse, no?

I don't know =/.
