For fun, I'm doing a Kiriban at deviantArt: http://leyna55.deviantart.com/ Take a screencap of my page at 30,000 page views (or the nearest number to that)and I'll paint you something. I think pageviews are counted vs IP address in a 24 hour period ( Read more... )

Thank you! I thought he was pretty sexy in that scene, so I wanted to paint it in my own style. :)

Thank you! (and because of your icon, I'm hearing this in Nathan's voice - which kinda works! :D )

Ooooh, he's gorgeous! Lovely use of color in his skin, and you really did a great job with light and shadow.

Verra sexy!!

Thank you! I'm trying to improve my use of light and skin tones - which is usually a good excuse to paint half-naked people :D

( Your icon is gorgeous!)

I took a figure painting class years ago and we were taught "Warm light, cool shadows" and "Cool light, warm shadows", and you've definitely captured that here.

Have you been using Corel Painter long? I'm currently using PaintToolSAI, and was contemplating Painter. I use a Intuos4.

I'd love to do a figure painting class sometime.

A copy of Painter Essentials came with my first Wacom tablete. I liked it,then tried Painter (10), and liked that even more. It suits my painting style, which at least when I was beginning to paint digitally, was very similar to my traditional painting style and I wanted a program that mimicked that. I like the brushes, the blenders. Most of the painting related stuff is fairly intuitive, though I find the more complex graphics related stuff a lot less intuitive. I probably don't use most of the things it can do, but I really like its basics.

I've heard good things about SAI.

WOW This looks totally awesome. I love the shading. These blues and purples made drawing much deeper. Great work!

Thank you! I found a really pretty photo with this sort of lighting, and I used it for inspiration.

This is excellent. Very impressive! I like seeing the brushstrokes on paintings so I like the preview a lot actually.

Thank you! I like seeing the brushstrokes, too, in art. Mine always seem very messy in comparison, but they get me where I want to go :)
