L is for Lima

Bellydancing is SOOOOO much FUN!!!!! I love it!! It's got history, culture, uniqueness..and it's a total body workout! Damn, my abs have had some action!!:) It really isn't "burlesque" at all. In fact, this style is very very traditional and some of the ladies don't even show their belly when they dance. It's more of the "Indian" style than the "egyptian" or greek style. It's a lot like Ballet combined with yoga combined with REALLY cool drum music!!

The Drums are freakin awesome and they have a Drum Instruction class right before mine at the studio, so we watched them perform yesterday--holy shit, their fingers must hurt! I'm guessing you could say it's basically bongo-style drums, but played at a very quick tempo and it's very middle-eastern sounding.

(sorry, Craig, i'm SURE that's not a musician's description, so sue me):)hehe... And It's what we will eventually choreograph our dances to. Neat-o!:)haha...

Not to mention that myself and andrea are like the youngest in the class besides maybe 2 other girls. It's mostly women over 40/50, so it's very inspiring to see these ladies get out there and "bond" and be comfortable with their bodies. Very neat experience and I am now SO excited about doing this all summer:)

Speaking of Pakistan...yeah, I called some credit card co. today about my account and OH MY GOSH< the girl was so hard to understand! And when I said "Kristie L. Carline"..she said "yu men 'L' az in LIMA?"
(the animal, not the bean, spelling???.)

I mean, c'mon nah, you're speaking to me from half across the world, but you could at least say "L as in lemon" or somethinG! shooo...

ok, time to go nighty-nite. I've been up since 5am for freakin KLFY Passe Partout this morning..AGAIN. I'm a little sick of TV right now, but whatever. It's kinda fun, just a pain in the ass to wake up so early.

A Bientot,

KLC
