Lessons The Amazing Race has taught me

Aug 08, 2003 10:35

Okay, first of all? I have a final in less than 2 hours and considering what happened at the midterm (yeah, forgot we were having it and wound up studying for about 10 minutes before class started), I'm a little nervous. In a good way, probably. I'm also a little sick. Not in a good way. Summer colds are the fucking worst.

Click here if you want to know what happened on TAR last night and how I feel about it and what we discussed in TARChat and what The Amazing Race has taught me and, apropos of nothing, what we've decided is the official drink of Smallville Season 3. )

I'm with you on the clowns, they became my favorites a couple weeks ago, I think. Team Who? I don't even know their names, and don't care. I also think you're right about Kelly and Jon...that's just *them* but I still hate her (are you sure she didn't make the train comment?) because it's so much fun to have someone you love to hate. So I guess I'm for R and C by default.

I *cannot* believe you mentioned Neil Diamond!! Two nights ago I had a dream that he did a little concert at Steve's (hubby's bro) house and L didn't tell me about it and I hated him so much I was in tears!

Write you soon.

Honey, just trust me. Who's the more obsessed TAR fan here? Sorry you missed Neil. That's a damn shame.

Last night I was all,

Dear Chip and Reichen:
I want to like you, but you're making it pretty fuckin' difficult.
Toodles,
Chicklet.

And yet Kelly and Jon just bug the hell out of me. I think it's the constant sniping, which may be how they communicate, but damn, is it annoying. I miss the clowns! Even though clowns freak me out.

So I guess I'm rooting for Team Who at this point. Actually, I kind of like how they slid under everyone's radar. They're Team Stealth! *g*

Oh yeah, what I've learned - a person should not go through life without ever hearing Neil Diamond's "Brother Love's Traveling Salvation Show".

Woo-hoo! *eyes Neil Diamond box set on stereo*

Hence, the ladies of TARChat give you Lex on the Beach. The official fangirl drink of Season 3. We're still deciding on the official recipe, but we have decreed that to be a true Lex on the Beach, one must consume it as a body shot.

Does this mean I have to stock up on plastic college-bar shot glasses? Wednesday nights just got way more interesting at my house. *g*

I know, it's tres malheureuse about the clowns. I have never had a problem with them myself, which I think can be attributed to the fact that I saw Jimmy Stewart play "Patches" or whatever the hell in The Greatest Show on Earth at a very young age. So, good association. I'm glad to hear you're rooting for Team Lebowski ("Dude"? "Dude.") because somebody has to.

Hmm. You know, I'm not too sure I'm all that comfortable with the body shot thing. We might have to stick to Jonathan Kent's "I did What?" Margaritas. That was a classic.

I hope your final went well!

And grown men who walk around airports in red clown noses are sometimes, in the end, exactly what you've been searching for all along.

Jordan, I totally agree with that! Who knew that TAR was good for so many life lessons?

Hey thanks! The final was okaaaaay. I wasn't feeling 100% on a few of the questions, but overall I think I did alright.

Yes, TAR is downright, well, amazing in the grand scheme of things. The next lesson we need to learn though is how to let go. I miss Phil already!
