Bring me the head of Lisa Schwartzbaum

Hey, Lisa Schwartzbaum? Your reviews consistently suck. Dial it back a notch, hon - save the scathing criticism for a movie *not* based on a cheesy, campy Disneyworld ride. I mean, come on - it's about *pirates ( Read more... )

There you are!

Good luck on the 10K and with the wedding stuff. I didn't know Missouri Synods were that strict. Yikes! I was raised Episcopalian -- they allow anything as long as you follow proper etiquette. ;)

TAR! Yes, we must dish tonight. I thought last week was going to be the non-elimination. You're right -- no way on earth that this week is not non-elimination.

And TAR was nominated for an Emmy!

I know! *dancing* It's all because of Phil. I love that there is a reality TV category. But answer me this - in the miniseries category, how the hell did Manor House not get nominated? Did they miss the deadline or something?

Oh, and the dish is totally on. Do you meet up with anyone anywhere in particular?

What is Manor House? Did I manage to miss something good again?!

I've just been meeting up with you and Miss T and Shannen and Kristen here on LJ. I can start an AIM chat room, though. Or maybe MSN? Do you have a preference?

Hmm, don't really have a preference. I'd just have to make sure I still have an AIM screen name *g*. Which shouldn't be a problem.

k .... just to be fair I did a poll. Y'all are going to have to tell me what your screen names are so I can unblock you. I've had some past stalker boys on AIM and had to go the more or less private route.

Oh yeah, and Manor House was this kick-ass PBS miniseries - akin to Frontier House and Victorian House, etc. - that put a family of 5 and about 15 people in the position of serving staff in a 1910's English Manor. It was all about decorum and ettiquette and class conflicts and actually brought up a lot of very interesting ideas about a society on the cusp of huge, obliterating change in the form of WWI. And I have gotten a little carried away. At any rate- great show. I think it just came out on DVD.

Thank you! And ... *wah* I missed that?!? I would love love love to have seen that. I liked both Frontier House and Victorian House and the one they did with guys being Roman soldiers in England (which was slashy as all get out!). I can't believe I missed Manor House. I think that would have been my favorite. Fortunately, PBS repeats everything, eventually.
