This Race truly is Amazing

Well, I've been doing some digging, checking the online versions of the local press from my hometown in South Dakota (by which I mean, I don't live there anymore. Just so we're clear), trying to find some dirt on Amanda and Chris, the swearing, name-calling dysfunctional young couple from The Amazing Race. I hate to say it, but it looks like the RibFest and controversy over paving the Tea-Ellis blacktop are getting more coverage. WTF? One station did get a choice interview with Phil though, in which he said, "The fact that Amanda and Chris had not traveled really gave us some great opportunities to see some reaction from them that you just wouldn't get from travel-savvy people."

Oh yeah, can't *wait* for that. I'm gonna bet it involves them refusing to even try to communicate in a language other than English and acting like total tools around non-English speakers, from whom they will undoubtedly be seeking help.

So I just bought "Gone with the Wind" and "The Wind Done Gone" over my lunch break and I'm wondering which one I should read first. I've seen the movie, so I'm not going into it cold anyway. At first I was thinking, obviously I should read "Gone with the Wind" first; it's just logically the thing to do. But then I thought maybe reading it after "The Wind Done Gone" will inform the original text with a really interesting perspective. Any thoughts? I'd love to hear them.
